Box Car 3130 is another example of the Ridgway Railroad Museum's efforts to restore the railroad heritage of Ouray County. The box car had been used locally since the 1950's as a grain storage shed (not the proverbial chicken coop, fortunately) and was donated by its owner to the Museum for display. The movement and restoration are shown sequentially below. Once seen in the hundreds up and down the RGS and the Ouray branch of the D&RGW, a Denver & Rio Grande Western 3000 series box car sits on the rails in Ridgway for the first time in almost half a century.
